The future is algae.

Has Algae provides a vegan-friendly complete food source for human needs.

Did you know?

While plant-based diets are amazing for the planet, adopters can often suffer from many nutritional deficiencies due to the exclusion of meat-based foods.

  • Vitamin B12

B12 is one vitamin found to be absent despite a varied plant-based diet (Rizo et al. 2016). Deficiency can result in nervous system damage and anemia.

  • Iron

Iron deficiency affects up to 25% of the world population. It leads to anemia, fatigue and weakened immunity. Vegetarians with a less balanced diet are at greater risk of developing iron deficiency (Saunders et al. 2013).

  • Omega - 3 Fatty Acids

Omega - 3 fatty acids, especially EPA & DHA are typically obtained from seafood. A study done in 2014 by Saunders et al. found that vegetarians are significantly deficient in EPA/DHA while vegans are almost completely deficient.

  • Zinc

Phytic acids in plants can hinder the absorption of zinc from food. While soaking and sprouting grains can reduce the phytic acid content, it is seldom done due to the laborious process, resulting in zinc deficiency in vegetarians (Hunt 2003). It leads to hair loss, skin breakouts, poor wound healing and lethargy.

“I believe that microalgae is the future. It is such an amazing ingredient.”
